Season 17 of the Canadian show began airing in the fall of 2022. Four of its pitches are gathered here and read from the ask upward.

This is a stronger season for confirmed outcomes: a few founders landed deals we can source, including one that ballooned well past the original request.

Season 17 is the strongest season in this batch for deal structures, and it is worth reading for those alone. Taltis Foods is the showpiece: a $60,000 ask that Wes Hall turned into a $600,000 package with a production loan attached. The Scented Market closed a finale deal with two Dragons, and SlyPod's founder funded a small raise by surrendering nearly half her company.

Sole Saver rounds out the set. Hussein Dahrouj asked $100,000 for 20 percent of his shoe-protection product and took the same money at 35 percent from Manjit Minhas. Every one of the four ended up parting with more of the company than they came in offering, or in Taltis's case taking a structure the founder never thought to ask for.

If you want to understand how a Dragon re-prices an ask, up, down, or many times over, these four pitches are a compact clinic.

The batch's richest season for real deals and the equity swings behind them.
