Brian Scudamore Turned Junk Into a System

Brian Scudamore was born on March 16, 1970 in San Francisco and built his career in Canada, founding 1-800-GOT-JUNK in 1998.

That flagship sits inside his parent company O2E Brands, alongside WOW 1 Day Painting, launched in late 2010, and Shack Shine, launched in January 2016.

How he got to the table

On April 4, 2024, CBC announced he would join Dragons' Den as an investor for the nineteenth season.

He arrives as a systems and franchising specialist, which is a distinct lens from the marketers and financiers already at the table.

The playbook he wrote

He has written two books, WTF?! or Willing to Fail in 2018 and BYOB or Build Your Own Business in 2022.

Expect his questions to circle process and repeatability: can this founder turn a good idea into a machine that runs without them?

Note: Details here come from his public biography; any deal on air is reported only on the pitch's own page.
