Chris Lefteri and Forrest Radford pitched a reusable repair stick, a bio-plastic that goes soft in hot water and hardens back into whatever shape is needed to mend a broken toy, cable or fitting.

They asked for £45,000 against a quarter of the business, and Steven Bartlett backed the deal.

An eco angle aimed at a crowded fixing-glue category

The pitch framed the product as a genuinely reusable alternative to single-use glue or tape, aimed at households wanting to cut back on disposable repair materials. Household fixings live and die on repeat purchase and word of mouth, since a happy customer rarely needs a second pack unless the first one delivered.

Bartlett has tended to favour direct-to-consumer products with a clear hook and healthy margins, which suits a cheap-to-make item with a wide spread of everyday uses.

What came next

Coverage describes the product continuing to sell through the company's own site, marketed on biodegradable credentials against named rivals in the mouldable-glue space.

Mouldable repair products are a small category with a few entrenched names, so a biodegradable alternative has to win on the environmental argument as much as on the fix itself.

Note: Based on the public record; company situations can change, so treat this as a snapshot.
