The pitch

What walked into the Den

Kabo, out of Toronto, cooks fresh meals for dogs and delivers them on a recurring plan built around each dog's needs.

Brothers Vino and Vijay Jeyapalan pitched in season 18, asking $250,000 for a 20 percent stake at an implied $1.25 million valuation.

What happened next

The deal is confirmed. A Newswire press release reports the founders locked in an investment from Michele Romanow, the venture capitalist and Clearbanc co-founder, on their Dragons' Den appearance.

Kabo is still very much operating. As of July 2026 its site ran a Build Your Box subscription flow with six recipes plus a full cart and account system.

Our read

The Hub verdict

Kabo's $250,000 for 20 percent ask valued the fresh-food brand at $1.25 million, and Michele Romanow invested. Fresh, gently cooked dog food is a subscription business with a cold-chain problem attached, so the money goes to customer acquisition and logistics rather than product development, which is the kind of spend a Clearbanc co-founder is unusually well placed to judge. Kabo is still operating, with a Build Your Box flow across six recipes plus a full cart and account system. It makes a useful contrast with Nutricanine: same category, similar ask logic, and only one of them left with a Dragon.

A Romanow deal, and still selling by subscription

Worth knowing: The Romanow deal is on the record through the company's own announcement. As always, an on-air agreement and a shipping storefront are two separate facts, and both check out here.
