Our read

The Hub verdict

Children's cutlery is a narrow niche, but a repeatable one, and Catherine and Chris Baldrey-Chourio pitched Nana's Manners on that promise: £50,000 for 20 percent, a £250,000 valuation. Touker Suleyman came in, though not at the opening price. The agreed deal was the same £50,000 for 30 percent, which resets the business at about £166,667 and costs the couple half again as much equity as they offered. They still kept the clear majority, and for a physical kids' product the trade is a familiar one: Suleyman's strength is getting things into shops, and shelf space is the whole game.
