Our read

The Hub verdict

Playbrush walked in with the same £2,000,000 valuation as the priciest asks in this group, seeking £100,000 for only 5 percent of its gamified toothbrushing gadget. The difference is that Playbrush walked out without a deal, and not because the room refused the price. Four Dragons, Touker Suleyman, Peter Jones, Tej Lalvani and Deborah Meaden, offered exactly the £100,000 for 5 percent that Paul Varga, Tolulope Ogunsina and Matthaus Ittner had asked for, and the founders said no. Getting your own number from most of the panel and still declining is a decision about who joins the cap table rather than about the valuation.

Four Dragons met the ask, and the founders said no.
