What stands out about season 14 is how tightly the asks bunch up. All five founders wanted between £60,000 and £75,000, the narrowest band of any year in our files, and all five left with a deal.

Equity is where they part ways. Craft Clubs surrendered just 12.5% for its £75,000, implying a valuation near £600,000 and far ahead of neighbours who mostly gave up 20% to 35%. Cocoa Ooze sits at the other end, handing over 35% for £70,000 at a £200,000 valuation, which is nearly three times the share of the company for slightly less money.
